A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words

Acorn sculpture

Meet ACORN.  He began as a tiny acorn but grew into a giant defender of people who need a living wage, paid sick days and affordable housing.  ACORN wants all people to have access to health care and a good education, not just people who can afford special interest groups and lobbyists to represent them. ACORN is just nuts about neighborhoods. The mighty oak really does sleep inside this ACORN.

I created this clay sculpture for ACORN because I was inspired by and believe in the work they do to help families who can’t afford health care or are losing their homes to foreclosure.   This is the true face of ACORN, not the one portrayed by Fox News and the right wing.

It’s amazing how the right-wing characterizes an organization by the actions of a few. Using that same logic, all Republicans must be adulterous, conspiracy whack-job, closet homosexual, loud mouthed, corporate shills. Just saying.
